Thank you! I've always loved the clothes but originally I was just trying to figure out what happened when in the planning stage. Once I started really looking at the costumes I developed a new level of appreciation for the thought and skill that went into them and I was really disappointed to discover that Kurland had only received one nomination for his work.

Plus, so much of our characterisation is based on what the characters wear but the fanon interpretation comes from what we saw in the cinema, where it's much easier to miss the detail. Thus, our early impression of Arthur was erroneously that he is Mr Three-Piece Suit when he is so much more. But critics and many fans seem to have overlooked all this because these costumes are quite subtly constructed and perhaps they haven't had a chance to re-evaluate their opinions with the DVD. Thus: picspam.

Jeffrey Kurland has already had an amazing career and I believe his next project is the Captain America movie so hopefully he'll get some recognition there.

And I would buy Arthur's boots too. They are amazing.
