Wonderful post! I found this very informational and also really echoed how I felt about people writing the way the characters dress in fiction. Fanon is strange because we catch glimpses of things and end up making it all about the character. I honestly feel like writing something more dedicated to their clothing choices, a la American Psycho, just from reading this.

I have to agree that Ariadne's suit in Arthur's dream level was probably the only outfit I disliked out of the entire film. I believe the scene called for all of them to be very well dressed, especially since the look like they're in a rather high class hotel. But damn couldn't they have done something more with that outfit?

Also, thank you so much for highlighting Arthur's color palette. Too often have I read fics where he's dressed in blacks and grays and where his subconscious dreamscape is nothing but structured buildings in gray masses. By the way, I was just wondering your thoughts on the second dream level, Arthur's dream. We know he's dressed to the nines in that sequence and there's one thing I want to know if you think it was for cinematography or if you think Arthur felt it was necessary. The suspenders. We glimpse them for just a few moments when he's fighting the projections, but thoughts on that would be wonderful as your entire post is so well thought out and put together.

Again, wonderful post. This is going in my bookmarks!
