1. I don't like the London Underground!

2. I do like Scotland!

3. I wish it was less hilly though.

4. But palaces and castles are really cool!

5. I amused someone by saying "capsicum" instead of "pepper."

6. Wow, there are a lot of French bistros in Scotland.

7. I am not complaining about that!

8. Crepes!

9. Blisters on my feet from walking so much!

10. Have resisted the urge to buy anything in tartan.

11. Skinny jeans actually look great with my hiking boots!

12. But my hair is always a mess from the wind and the rain.

13. Sometimes when I'm on the train I imagine I'm going to Hogwarts.

I'd love to be somewhere in Scotland right now than in oddly hot SoCal right now.

The weather has not been great here but it has been cool. So far the rain has been light so you can still walk around in it and see the sights. I'm hoping it will clear up later in the week so I can tramp around Loch Ness.

Just discovered the free wi-fi at the hostel is really fast. Gonna go download Doctor Who!

I don't like the London Underground!

Is it the heat, the many, many people or the incredibly confusing way it's set up? Because, yeah, I wasn't super keen on either of those three.

Scotland sounds pretty awesome, though.

For me it was the fact that there was absolutely nowhere to stow even the smallest of my bags when catching it out of Heathrow. I had to stand with two suitcases and two carry-ons in a crush of people. The carriages are so poorly designed it boggles my mind - if the seats were just half a foot higher off the ground I could have put my suitcases under them and I wouldn't have been in so many people's way.

Scotland is pretty awesome. And pretty. Today on the train I saw a castle out my window.

haha, i am perverse so i actually like the london underground. (plus, most of my inception fanfic was written while riding it.)

haha, crepes. edinburgh crepes out of a van, by any chance? i'm scottish (and living in glasgow since last week) and already i'm getting annoyed by messy-hair-rain-WTF. also, everyone imagines their going to hogwarts on the trains here, i think. ;DD

it's cheesy, but edinburgh castle looks cool as fuck all lit up at night.

You managed to write on that thing? Wow.

Tragically, I only discovered the crepes van after I'd eaten lunch.

The hair thing is so annoying. I've decided that hat hair is preferable but finding cute hats has been surprisingly difficult. So many woolen hats marketed at women have faces or ears - I've actually been scouting the men's departments, trying to find the perfect trilby.

It is cheesy but I now have a million shots of Edinburgh Castle taken from a distance. I can't help it - we don't have one of those in Australia!

I hope you're having a good time in Scotland! Have you visited any old-fashioned tea rooms where you hoped to run into Miss Marple, or overhear some incriminating gossip, or where you imagined you were a lady detective? That's what tea rooms are for, right? :)

Scotland has been great but, no, I haven't visited that kind of tea room or overheard many interesting conversations.
