VM musings - ep 2.22

But anyway.
But anyway.
Oh my God!
How awesome was that?
Firstly, I loved how all those characters returned. Lilly, Lianne, Clarence, Alicia, Vinnie - all so awesome.
Even Duncan who is apparently living in Australia. Whatever. From the way the sun was setting he had to be in Western Australia WHERE I LIVE and there is no town called 'Mollymooks' here. There is a Mollymooks in New South Wales on the East Coast. Also, we don't have life guard shacks like that. And how nice of them to get in TWO Aussie flags just in case the audience is stupid.
Which we're not. How do I know this? Because evil!Beaver has been the lead suspect for quite a while now. So yay for fandom for figuring it out!
Graduation
So it looked like Dick didn't graduate. He was sitting in the audience with evil!Beaver...I mean Cassidy. I'm kinda bummed we didn't get to see Logan graduate (and win the physics and english awards). I kinda thought Haaron would show up.
Weevil's grandmother has aged a hell of a lot since 1.02. And where was the gorgeous Ophelia? I wonder if one of the cases Veronica is going to be tackling next year is Weevil's case. Though he is rather guilty so maybe the whole jail thing is a way to write Weevil out of the show. He certainly won't be at Hearst.
Did Veronica win the Kane scholarship? She was wearing some kind of medalion.
How funny was it that John Enbom and Phil Klemmer graduated? For those not in the know, they're both writers on the show and form team Klembom.

Dick going commando. Heh.
And Lilly! In a bad wig! Still, awesome.
I thought KB looked gorgeous in those scenes. I can't wait to read the fanfic coming from this scenario.
On the roof
My hat is off to you Kyle Gallner. Great work. Very, very creepy but excellent. I loved the explanation for how he did it. That was really great. I think Kyle looks like Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Amazing work by KB. When she is over looked by the Emmys I will howl in despair because even though the Emmys are shite, she still deserves the recognition. Her pain - amazing.
And great work by JD too. Trying to talk Veronica and then Cassidy down, Logan's matured a lot over this season and that showed when he didn't try to attack Cassidy.
The day after
Did anyone else see the really nice symetry when Veronica is lying on Logan's lap on the couch? It mirrored the scene in 2.01 except in that case it was Logan lying down.
And Keith lives! Well I knew he was going to because duh, they wouldn't kill off Keith. But that whole scene, especially the cute little puppet show, was really great.
Also? Logan was making breakfast. Pancakes and bacon to be specific. LOGAN CAN COOK! I love him even more than I orginally thought possible.
In the hall
Call me crazy but though I squeed like the hopeless shipper I am, I would have preferred it if Logan and Veronica hadn't been so quick to kiss. Because they can't stay together and be all happy - RT won't allow it. Hopefully they'll decide to be friends and slowly build up to a relationship in season 3. Because there had better be a season 3!
Cliffhanger
Interesting cliffhanger. At first I assumed that the case had money in it but it could be something else. I wonder what...

Is it wrong that I'm cheering Kenscilla on and really hope that she's back next season?
Jakcie and Wallace
I'm guessing Jackie won't be around next season. Oh well. I grew to like her a lot. But if next season has her, Wallace and her son shacking up in Neptune I'll be hella pissed. Just let the character go.
Mac
One character I do hope will be around next season, is Mac. Tina Majorino is so fantastic and her final scene was so heart breaking.
Haaron
Well it is noir (baby). Aaron finally got what he deserved. And Logan gets all his money. Awesome.
So yeah. This was a great episode for me. Tied up pretty much everything though the Wallace/Jackie stuff could have happened earlier. But anyway.
Just one thing though. Was it Curly who called Weevil? From the Echolls' house? Ok.
Here's hoping for season 3! But if we don't get it, that was a pretty good way to end the show.
In honour of Veronica graduating, I wore my special graduation sash while writing this.

Read the Ask Ausiello article at tvguide.com. Apparently Rob is working very hard to make her a regular next season. Apparently she (and her roomate) feature in the first few eps next season. Which is great because I just LOVED her this episode.

I was wondering about that scene. I thought "I wonder if they have those kind of life guard shacks in Australia? I know, bennet_7 will tell me." I didn't think about the setting sun thing.

Yeah I think that Dick doesn't graduate because he failed Mr Wu's class. He has to go to summer school.
RT could have turned that Duncan scene into such a nice shout out to me. Oh well.
We only have life guards on our major beaches and they wear the cutest little speedos. I doubt a town as small as Mollymooks (which I had to google) would even have a life guards on the beach. Might have a shark patrol though.
