I have such mixed feelings about this episode. I thought the A plot with Piz's stolen stuff, was at times confusing and the sparkling wit normally present was sadly lacking. The lack of build up with Logan and Veronica finally doing IT! was disappointing.

And what the hell did they do to Logan's character? Where was the snark and the funny banter? If he doesn't give a verbal smackdown in the next episode I'll be hella pissed.

What I did like was the new characters. Piz seems like a doofus but he's a nice doofus. Parker seems to be somewhere between Gia and Madison though that'll probably change after the rape (which I thought the actress handled really well). Great to see James Jordan back as Tim, the TA.

It's been said before but is worth repeating: Ryan Hansen was excellent.

But yeah, overall the writing just wasn't there for me. Veronica was kind of smug. Her first voice over is "don't piss people off" and then she goes and purposely baits Tim by reading the magazine and ignoring the exercise. Not a great way to get new viewers.

I'll be honest, I liked Veronica best when she was the victim and you wanted to cheer her on. She lacks that vulnerability now and it's sad.

Emo!sleeves watch: Sadly there was no sight of The Sleeves in this episode.

A solid episode but not one of my favourites. It needed more Jim. Interesting how they are suggesting a new love interest for him too.

I agree about the lack of buildup. I mean, yay for them, but I was interested in the trip as well as the destination. Also, I could have done without the sweatiness.

I don't think it's wrong to want to see them rip their clothes off each other ;-)

I'm with you on not seeing the buidlup to the SEX because, HELLO they had chemistry and I wanted to see that again.

I have no idea what they did to Logan, but I hope it he comes back soon or I'll join you in the beatdown.

Ryan did do a damn good job all episode long.

There was emo!sleeves, just not on Logan. Dick had them when he came to the hotel at the end.

I did see Dick's sleeves but I'm not sure whether they should really count. Maybe I'll give them an honorary mention.

Makes sense to me. I'll have comments on the [livejournal.com profile] vm_blog piece in one second...I just need to finish reading.

There wasn't much of it, but...come on, "Nice shirt." wasn't totally hilarious?

She lacks that vulnerability now and it's sad.

I guess I really did read her differently this episode. Her flummoxed reaction to when Piz asked her why she investigates things I thought revealed a lot of vulnerability. In a prickly-pear, Veronica sort of way.

"Nice hair" would have been better ;-)

I guess I just miss broken Veronica - I like her best when she's putting herself back together. Comfortable Veronica isn't as interesting to me.

Ahh, I loved the VM premiere, but I'm sure a large portion of that is a yay! the show's back on! happy reaction and less to do with the actual episode. Although I did show it to my VM-hating sister and she really liked it, moreso than the two GA eps I had to bribe her with.

I really missed the Logan/Veronica buildup. To go from happy playful hallway kissing to being in bed was a little jarring. But I say, hey! At least they made it through the premiere. Can't complain about that.

Ryan Hansen really was good. He made me hate him and then broke my heart all within forty minutes. Nice job.

I actually really liked Karen. I think she is just enough unlike Pam for Jim to move on and really be happy for awhile. That's all I want, happy!Jim. Of course, ultimately, Jim/Pam is where my heart lies.

I like Karen too and it disturbs me a bit ;-) She's a fun character.
