I don't care how interesting your premise is, how much I like your title, or how on-point your characterisation is; if you describe a character's eyes as "orbs", I am frakking done. Out of there. Closing the tab, not looking back.

It would be more funny if it happened less, BUT IT HAPPENS A LOT! More on FF.net than LJ, but yes, this is a huge pet peeve for me.

Ahaha, yes. God, I don't know why so many people do that, it's terrible. I see it all the time in the Bones fandom.

The imagery of it really squicks me out because eyes don't look orb-like unless they've been plucked from someone's eye sockets. Whenever I see them use "orbs", I imagine floating eyeballs.
