- AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

- I'm so glad Alicia finally left Peter. The way she did it was so brutally efficient: finding him an apartment, moving all his things there, taking care of everything. She could have been so much crueller but that wouldn't have been as in-character as this was - she just tried to make the situation as neat as possible.

- But of course Peter can't appreciate just how accommodating towards him she is being. He might have eventually agreed to the split if she'd given him a chance to argue, to persuade, and if he'd left on his terms. But she gave him no choice in the matter, no chances, so he is going to be a giant dick to her.

- It was stunning how quickly he went to accusing her of being with Will, which showed to me that this is not about his love for Alicia but his pride. Alicia has bested him, he thinks Will has bested him, and he just can't stand it because he's not on top, he doesn't control the situation.

- I do think she should have told Zach and Grace why she was finally leaving their father. I think it's better for them to know the truth than to speculate and I worry that they'll blame her. They've shown a tendency to side with Peter in the past and you know that Jackie, for all her worrying about Alicia's bias, is certainly never going to say a kind word about her in their presence again.

- I wanted to reach through my laptop screen and slap Jackie while I was watching but she doesn't know the truth so she's naturally going to assume the worst about Alicia. While it is kind of noble of Alicia to keep her reasons private, it's only helping Peter and hindering her. I'm not saying she should hold a press conference but the family should know.

- I did like that Eli didn't try to talk Alicia out of it, and defended her to Jackie.

- With all this going on I probably wouldn't have cared much about the case of the week stuff if it hadn't been more about the return of Patti Nyholm than the client. But I do love me some of Patti's scheming. What's interesting about Patti is that she does use aspects of her gender to get ahead but its never her sexuality, always her motherhood - the other way to use your vagina. It's kind of an inversion of the trope because she manipulates not by suggesting the possibility of sex but by showing the outcome of it (babies), which actually makes her inaccessible to men but still allows her power over them (and other women too). She casts herself in the role of mysterious mother rather than desirable young vixen. I don't think I've ever seen another female character do this.
