Every couple of months I get this desire to watch Doctor Who. It's so joyful and silly and wonderfully British - I love it. I enjoyed the earlier series, notably One and Four, but Nine made me a true fan and Ten sealed the deal.

The reason for that (aside from the obvious physical charms of Nine and Ten) is Rose. She is without a doubt my favourite companion. When I heard that Billie Piper had been cast I was very "ugh" about it. The only thing I knew about her was that one song she used to sing when I was about 12 - 'Honey to the Bees' I think it was called. But Billie was fantastic as Rose, making her entirely sympathetic and relate-able.

Of course, every Doctor Who rewatch ends in tears and screams of "Why couldn't Billie just have stayed in the show forever and ever? I don't understand!", and so I have to turn to fanfic to get my fix (I haven't started watching season 3 because I've already exceeded my download limit for this month). However, when it comes to Doctor Who fanfic I have a very big problem - as much as I believe that the Doctor and Rose truly love each other on a soul mate level and despite the fact that David Tennant and Billie Piper have more chemistry than a science lab, I can't really stomach the Doctor and Rose having a sexual relationship in fic. It just seems all kinds of wrong to me.

Just finished re-reading theohara's Virtual Season 2 for 'Veronica Mars.'

Oh well. She has said that though she has written some of the next episode, she is also suffering from massive writer's block.

Been there. Haven't enjoyed it. And at least I didn't have the presure of the majority of the VM fandom on me.

These are fics that stood out. I like them for their humour, characterisation and plotting. They are Mulit-Chaps.

Into the blue by anjoufic -Logan fic post 'LitB.' Fantastic characterisation. Just wonderful.

queen_haq -Though also posted to lj, I think it's easier to read over at The LoVe Shack. Totally AU (Alternate Universe) it still focuses on the L/V relationship and the characterisation is pretty good. Very hot.

Play With Fire by moondust10109-Logan. As a vampire. Very interesting post 'LitB' fic. Just got updated tonight after months of nothing-ness. It was like a sign!

Gee, Thanx a lot, Beaver by Simply Lily-This one takes a little while to get into but once it hits it's stride it is great. Fluff that is in-character and doesn't give you cavities. Also, after chapter 9, the author has the characters plea for reviews-hilarious.

La Douleur Exquise! by shangri_la -Though the two time lines originally annoyed me I really love this fic now. 4 chapters so far, more to come.

When the cuddling isn't the best part by skk670 -Set after 2.02, Veronica goes to Logan for sex. They fight. A lot. Discussing all their issues. Really well written.

Logan Mars by veronicassecret - Because originally, Rob Thomas was going to have a male protagonist. Really interesting fic. Told in first person, so 'Veronica Echolls' doesn't come off as too sympathetic because we know nothing about any possible abuse. Still 'tis very interesting.
