I'm not in the business at all. My mother taught me to sew - I do it rather badly - and I once worked as an assistant costumer on an amateur theatre production (never again!). I just find the history of the construction of clothes fascinating and I think costume design is an essential but frequently overlooked part of creating both characters and films.
