bennet_7Ha ha, I haven't even moved into my accommodation yet (I'm still staying at a hostel) but nothing will keep me from Parks and Rec! NOTHING!
Can I just say that I loved that Leslie broke up with Ben to follow her dream? Can I? Because I did. I mean, yes, in an ideal world it would be great to see Leslie pursue the career she's always wanted and date her adorkable boss, but she can't. I'm sure there will be some gross parts of fandom that declare themselves "Team Ben" and start vilifying Leslie for choosing herself rather than a two-month relationship, but that seems ridiculous to me when Ben himself is clearly "Team Leslie" and is being totally supportive and understanding and apparently in charge of badge making.
Other things I loved:
- The show making jokes about penises but also stating that emailing pictures of your penis to a co-worker is flat out WRONG. This show is the best for feminism.
- Ron Swanson being crazily crazy prepared.
- Tammy 1 is being played by Patricia Clarkson! Guys, I love Patricia Clarkson. Interesting to see that she's almost the complete opposite of Ron's type - blonde and believes in big government.
- Andy thinking that the magnet would erase his debt. Oh, if only.
- April's phone manner. "Well, as acting manager of the Parks Department, I declare everything you are saying is stupid. I love you."
- Um, everything? Seriously, I love this show so much.
Ok, no, Rob Lowe's hair looked ridiculous.

Date: 2011-09-26 10:34 am (UTC)Yeah, it didn't feel like we as the audience were being jerked around or they were putting up a roadblock because of the "Moonlighting curse" - which is a crockery pot of fecal matter to begin with. This feels like a genuine conflict in their relationship, but I also don't doubt that they are going to get back together and and get married and have kids who are totally grossed out by the fact that their parents get turned on by congressional debates.
