Last night I had a thought: wouldn't it be great if boots were like four wheel drives?

Seriously. Think about it.

Press a button when you're off-roading in the country and suddenly you've got extra traction control and grip. The suspension gets firmer (or whatever) and you can go through, like, rivers and mud and sand dunes.

But then, you're back in the city and you don't need all those features. So, you press another button (or maybe the same button, I DON'T KNOW) and then you're boots become lighter and somehow more stylish because you don't need fog lights on in the city...

...this is the kind of thing I think about for more than five minutes.

The Good Wife is back. I liked it! Let's break it down.

Things that were amazing

- THAT SEX SCENE! How did they get that on the air? I mean, they didn't actually show anything, it was all dialogue and then they didn't say anything explicit, but some how it was both incredibly hot and shocking. I think that was because it wasn't about titillating the audience, but rather totally about Alicia's pleasure and it's really rare to see the focus on the woman's pleasure (though that's something the show has been doing from the beginning, starting with when Peter went down on Alicia and it was all about her). When Will wanted to take it to the bedroom and Alicia was, "No, do me against this wall," (I'm paraphrasing) I cheered. You go, girl! Own your sexuality.

- That last moment where Alicia looks in the mirror and realises that maybe she isn't ready for whatever it is she's doing with Will.

- Will and Kalinda's friendship is so odd but I hope they continue to develop it. He calls her "K"!

Things that were quite good

- The case was interesting and for the most part I thought Arab/Israeli conflict was handled well for the most part.

- Heh. Diane is the only adult.

- I actually kind of like Sophia. I found her amusing.

Things that made me go WTF?

- Grace's tutor. "Bollywood"? Really? That was just weird. I do trust these writers but maybe that sub-plot could have waited another week where it could have had the space to breath.

- Eli not realising that something is going on between Alicia and Will. Has he not seen television or read a book or seen a movie or been to the theatre...ever? Whenever two people appear to not get along they are almost always having an affair. Plus, Will and Alicia have always been friendly and professional towards each other. It's actually really weird that they aren't acting as they used to. Major fail, Eli.

I didn't actually know that Being Erica was back this week - it was just there to DL in the comms - but I'm glad it's back. I really liked that they finally got around to dealing with Josh because his feelings for Erica have been obvious since the pilot. I thought Doctor Tom's greater point about how we "other" people by seeing them as less human than we are was very true. I'm guilty of doing it myself, looking at other people and assuming that they don't feel as I do or think as I do. You know, when you say to yourself "I'm not one of those girls." It's such bullshit and I'd like to think I'm doing better, but I've met so many new people in the past three weeks and, well, judging comes easily to me anyway. At least I can recognise what I'm doing now and tell myself to cut it out.

The latest episode of The Dan and Blair Show was quite short and light on plot, but it's nice to know that it's still being made. God damn, I really wanted them to run away to the Hamptons together (and solve crimes, naturally). Season 1 Blair would have instantly realised that Dan was in love with her.

I tried out three new shows, all of which were light and fluffy and none of which I loved: The Secret Circle (which has one more episode to rise to the level of The Vampire Diaries), Pan Am (because shows with a ratio of four female main characters to two male are rare. This one will get an even greater grace period to get itself some depth), and Hart of Dixie (which was stupid in many different ways but somehow the most enjoyable). I really did not buy Rachel Bilson as a cold surgical automaton who has no idea what to do with feelings (She was SUMMER ROBERTS, COME ON!(/GOB)). Scott Porter kind of bored me as the Golden Boy whose accent was bad. I preferred Wilson Bethel (Q-Tip in Generation Kill) as Wade. Hopefully there will be fewer ridiculous cultural clichés in the future (HA!) and they'll just let Bilson be funny. My favourite character ended up being Levon Hayes which is weird because normally I hate people who refer to themselves in the third person - but then, they are also usually designing shitty clothes on Project Runway.

I just found out that Rachel Bilson is in Hart of Dixie and now I guess I have to watch it. Although I'm afraid it might just be this year's Off the Map where even the lead actress I have a crush on can't make me watch more than one or two Eps.

Yeah, after watching the second episode I'm thinking this one isn't going to be able to turn itself around. But I'll give it one more.
