I've been reading about 2.11 of 'Veronica Mars.' I'm a little annoyed.

 

Seems like Duncan gets to be a fucking hero (I make no apologies for any profanity that may be in this post. It is all warranted).

He and Veronica don't even break up properly. He says "I love you" she says "You better."

Then he leaves with his daughter, who he has named Lilly (gag!). Rides off into the fucking sunset.

Ok so she doesn't say it back. And I hope when I actually get to see it she'll look...well...you know...like she doesn't reciprocate.

But still. FUCK!!!!

 

Here is my main problem with Duncan. He has been written badly all season 2. Really badly. Most people hate him. Couch Baron over at TWoP said, "This character sucks!"

So why do you go and make him a hero when you know that it is going to make the majority of the fandom really pissed off?

He has acted like a tool all season. Mostly I blame the writers, but Teddy Dunn deserves some of the blame for failing to convey any subtext.

 

I hate Veronica when she is with Duncan. She is stupid with him. She lets things slide that she would never have done with Logan or any other boyfriend. I can see Duncan's faults but she can't and thus I think less of her. And I don't like stupid characters. I like characters with intelligence.

I like the Veronica who didn't take crap from nobody. When she was with Logan, she was still that person. Evidence: she dumped him when he started doing stupid stuff.

 

Apparently someone asked Rob Thomas at the Mars-a-thon why Veronica wasn't calling Duncan on his shit and he totally avoided the question. 

It just feels like 'Veronica Mars' is going down hill. I'm a member of vm_campaigns, a community dedicated to getting VM a third season and right now I think it is not [Bad username or unknown identity: worth it. ]

I understood that][Bad username or unknown identity: V/D had unfinished business. It's just that this relationship ][Bad username or unknown identity: (I feel)][Bad username or unknown identity:  drags down the entire show. ]

Yeah. miniorr has suggested that if we don't know anything about the next ep, then at the very least we can enjoy the suprises. Sounds fairly obvious but really, it hadn't occured to me before :-)

However when you HAVE to go onto the internet to get the show, like me, I think you become more inclined to read the spoilers just because you are on the net anyway.

Sigh. I'm going to try...just after I finish reading about the Mars-a-thon.

And if I'm not reading spoilers, I'm going to be reading even more fanfic (not sure this is possible. Hmmm. Maybe I'll back-read [Unknown site tag] again).

I just want my show back. Thank god season 1 is just airing in Oz. Good times.

I guess I'm totally in the minority. But I like it SOOOO much better that Duncan is leaving a hero. I couldn't really get into the whole "he dumps her before he leaves" thing. I just hoped it was going to work out in a way that made sense. This works SO MUCH better.

Because she's totally going to get over him, and when he comes back it'll be all kind of awkward, I-don't-love-you-anymore from Veronica. Instead of dumped Veronica.

And yeah, I did the spoiler thing. My major problem with spoilers has been the mass shipper negativity, so I won't go into certain threads, but I had someone tell me the spoilers for ep.11.

I'm just worried that she won't get over him and that she'll pine. Yuck.

Nope, I'm thinking positively. She will get over him and if/when he comes back she'll be all "You left and I moved on, deal with it Donut. Can I go back to having sex with Logan now?"

I can dream can't I?

I just would have liked her to acknowledge the huge problems in their relationship TO HIM and have her end it. "I love you but not that way any more, so you're leaving is kind of a good thing. Lets tresure the memories but not live in the past. I'm going to go have sex with Logan now."

I know, I'm a sad, sad, individual.

The thing is I DON'T want her and Logan to get back together this season. They can kiss in the season finale but that's it. They both need to be in a better place.

Now she is just going to (hopefully) admit the problems with their relationship (V/D) to herself which doesn't have quite the same impact for me. If she were to admit them to Logan or Wallace, I'd be fine with it. More fine with it.

My opinions exactly, well, you know we did write angry posts before.

So, did you read ep16 sides? Since I'm a spoiler-bitch, I just couldn't help but reading. I think (well, we all know RT is waiting to fuck us up, so I'm not getting my hopes up) MAYBE things could go the way we want to. And I'm seriously believing that if Donut shows up it can't be anything related to messing with V's mind. Because if it is, I'm SO done.

And also, couldn't Logan and Wallace talk JUST FOR ONCE?
