This just in: Bennet not dead and now 19

So I haven't updated in a while. Pesky tertiary education asked to be paid some attention and I've been doing end of year assignments. Sleepless nights, headaches and existential angst - and I'm paying for the priviledge.



October was in no way fun, November is shaping up to be marginally better. And of course, in this time of stress it was my birthday! I turned 19 on the 23rd but spent the day learning about genocide and scripting - easily the least fun birthday I've ever had and that includes my 13th when my aunt was dying and all the times my dad was in China for the trade fair.

(Did you know that it is legal to commit genocide in Australia? At least, there is no law against committing genocide. Twisted, huh? Also, I suck at scripting! /false cheer)

Although I haven't really had the time to update, neither have I really had the inclination. My fangirlyness for Veronica Mars is seriously low at the moment - I enjoy it while I watch it but as soon as the episode is done I'm all "Damn, I miss season 1." I'd like to blame it on school induced apathy for life in general but I really don't think that it the show I fell in love with anymore. But that's probably best left for another post at another time.

Anyway, I'm going to finish up the assignment that is due in tomorrow and then hopefully watch some West Wing (season 6 on dvd was a birthday present. Also, how hard is it to watch Leo having the heart attack since John Spencer's death? Hard. (The anniversary for which is coming up soon if I remember correctly)).

Anyhow! I'm sorry to hear that your birthday wasn't overly interesting/fun. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, by the way! :) Maybe you should think about "re-birthday"ing, and going out to celebrate again. I know that this year, my friends and I talked about "re-birthdaying" since I had 3 tests the week after my birthday, so I couldn't go out after dinner and do much of anything fun. Didn't actually happen, but it was a nice idea. :)

And, man, I totally feel you on the VM apathy. I haven't even watched this week's episode yet (I'll probably watch it this weekend or something), but it's just that the show is no longer the show that I fell in love with. Sure, it's improved on S2, but at the same time, there's still something missing. :-\

That, and Supernatural (and Jensen Ackles) has eaten my brain. :-D I think you're into SPN (at least a little?), and let me tell you that if you haven't been keeping up with it, this year's episodes have been filled with awesome. Like, going back to late S1, I think we're on a 7 episode streak of non-suckitude. Not even VM could beat that in it's hey-day!

Naughty lj! That happens a lot to me too.

Thanks! My friends and I are hopefully going to go clubbing or something after the exams. We're all so busy studying at the moment (or sitting in our rooms thinking about studying which still counts in my book!) that we never seriously contemplated doing anything on my birthday. It will be nice to get outside the house for something other than class and work!

I'm not sure what it is about VM. It seems to be less than it was in so many ways. The writing isn't as good, the stories aren't as engaging, the acting's been not so great. There are good parts instead of overall awesome.

I love SPN but I haven't seen the latest ep yet. I'm going to download it tonight. I keep trying to tell myself that school is more important than Jensen but I need a study break! (well that's my excuse anyway ;-))

I'm sorry to hear that October has been so stressful, but I hope that November gets to be better than you imagine.

I agree that watching S6 of TWW is hard to do when you know that JS does die.
