Logan's long sleeves of emotional vulnerbility: Picspam verson 2.0

So Logan Echolls does this thing with his sleeves on Veronica Mars. It's hot. They're called 'emo!sleeves.' And I'm a fan.

My original piscpam is here but because rich text mode is the devil's tool, it won't let me update that post anymore without frelling the frak up. So I won't be updating that post anymore and the emo!sleeves will now live here.

We have a new earliest case of sleevage thanks to fire_fly_stare_. Here we see The Sleeved One looking down at his idiot best friend who has just taken a flying leap off the bleachers. He's momentarily angsty before switching back to his default setting of jackassy.

This is the earliest case of 'sleevage' I could find (bare in mind, I didn't check every ep).

As he chooses a belt for his father to abuse him with, we see the firstsecond instance of Logan having his sleeves low over his hands.

Here, the sleeves are bringing the subtext, foreshadowing the trouble that is about to befall our young hero.

Or, whatever...

Discussing his mother's case with Veronica. You'll note that the shirt he is wearing is the same one from the first picture in 1.06. It seems this shirt is particularly conducive to emo-ness.


That's all that I could find for season 1. In the second half of season 1, Logan wears more jackets and thus there is less sleevage.


But in season 2...

Feeling as sick as the rest of us from V/D's nauseating coupleness, Logan draws strength from his sleeves.

Logan you can't combine the sleevey vulnerable look with the jackassy attitude. It won't get you any help from your ex. You're lucky she feels guilty/sorry for you.



Here he is obviously torn over his loyalty to Duncan and his loyalty to Veronica, and shows it through long sleevage.

Massive sleevage here. Is clearly concerned about revealing himself to be a 'Star Wars' geek to Veronica. Or he's worried about going to jail.

But that sleevage is nothing compared to the following because here we have sleevage AND crying. Fangirls everywhere swoon.



Logan's all sad and sleevey.



But not sleevey enough as he goes and pulls his sleeves even further to cover his hands.



Awww.



He gets up and adjusts his sleeves even further.



And then, most impressively considering the sleevage and the way it must limit his movement, destroys evidence in a criminal case.

Again, the sleeves bring the subtext as he wages a war of words with Veronica. Clearly hurting from this encounter.

And look! He's leaning too!

Some people seem to think that Logan and Hannah have a real relationship. They don't. They have a fake relationship.

Evidence: the amount of sleevage clearly shows that Logan is uncomfortable with this situation.

Logan is ashamed of his actions.

Still, it makes Logan all sad and defensively sarcastic.



Having just heard some hard truths, Logan adjusts his sleeves.

And does anyone know how I can get a cheese burger to Jessy Schram? Because seriously? Girl is thin. Check out her arms.



Logan's done some terrible things but will only be telling Veronica about one of them.

And when going to Veronica for help, he likes to be all sleevey.


So that is all we have of Logan's 'long sleeves of emotional vulnerability' - so far. (But if I've missed stuff out, let me know and I'll add it in)

Is it a trait written in by Rob or added by Jason? Is Logan trying to physically shield himself when he is most emotionally vulnerable? Or is it because his sleeves are too long?

Whatever the reason, it's hot.

There was so much emo!sleevage in the season finale that I'm updating this thing.

Logan's a free man here so there is no emo!sleevage to be seen. Just a really fugly sweater.



Here he is sad because Hannah has just been taken away (but not that sad because he and Veronica are all OMG!Sway in the next episode). Obviously, he is shirtless but needing the strength of his sleeves, he draws comforst from them in this time of kind of angst.

I had to look at shirtless Hannah to get this cap - gag.

I'm not sure why Logan is styling the emo!sleeves here. He was just talking to Gia so that might be it.

Obviously Logan is feeling nervous about spending time with Veronica's BFF.

LOOK AT THE EXTENT OF THE SLEEVAGE!



Poor Logan. Poor Veronica.

But look at how close they are. As someone on the L/V board over at TWoP said, you never see Duncan and Veronica hugging that close. Not when the bus goes over the cliff, not when she goes to him thinking the bus crash was meant for her. But then, we all know that Logan is the superior boyfriend.



LOGAN CAN COOK!!! HE IS THE BESTEST BOYFRIEND EVER!!!

And he does it with the most emoest sleeves so far. You can't actually see his left hand.



And now I'm emo.



Logan's happy. No long emo!sleeves for him.

Also: it's June. That could be it too.

No. It's because he's happy and in looooove with Veronica.

It's hard to tell in this scene but I'm pretty sure those are emo!sleeves. But what has Logan got to be emo about?



Maybe bad popcorn? That can drive me into a fit of depression. I hate it when it's too salty. I like mine with a lot of butter.

These are definitely emo!sleeves though. We begin with our noble sleevey hero walking. Some people might say that the sleeves are pulled down because he is cold. Some people are wrong. Logan is suffering from great internal angst dammit! He needs to draw on the nourishing power of his sleeves.



Our hero is alert. He recognises his girl's car and his "Veronica-is-in-trouble-again-I-must-hasten-to-her-side" sense tingles.



He runs down the stairs. Manfully. Heroically. Sleevely (add it to your vocabulary people).



Run Logan! Run like the wind!

It's really quite beautiful.
