Links are starting to appear to Dollhouse but I can't muster up the enthusiasm to snag it. I thought I'd be psyched for anything and everything Whedon but this project is not getting me excited.

1. I don't think Eliza Dushku has the range as an actress to play all those different personalities. Plus, I hated Faith on Buffy (I know, I know, sacrilegious thoughts to most of the fandom but she never ever appealed to me as a character).

2. Network interference. Pilot re-shot. 'Make it more accessible'. Friday night time slot o' doom.

3. The premise is a little hard to swallow. Someone wanting to hire the perfect hooker or even just a date for the night I can understand. But choosing to have one of the 'dolls' become a hostage negotiator or spy over getting the real thing? Sorry, I don't buy it.

4. It's on Fox. Cancellation is imminent anyway.

I'll probably download it at a later date to satisfy my inner completionist or if the critics and the flist start raving - nobody is raving yet.

Is anyone else feeling a bit apathetic towards Dollhouse or is it just me?

Firstly, three roles from Joss' new show Dollhouse have been cast. While I had kind of been hoping for Ben Browder to be cast in the Paul Smith role (as brilliantly suggested in this post - spoilery for characters) I can't say I'm displeased with who they did choose.

In less awesome Joss news, this radical (and I mean RADICAL) feminist take on Firefly has been mentioned all over the blogosphere. Quite frankly, it's disturbing.

What the fuck is this feminist man trying to say about women here? A black woman calling a white man ‘sir’. A white male captain who abuses and silences his female crew, with no consequences. The women are HAPPY to be abused. They enjoy it. What does this say about women, Joss? What does this say about you? Do you tell your wife to shut up? Do you threaten to duct tape her mouth? Lock her in the bedroom? Is this funny to you, Joss? Because it sure as fuck ain’t funny to me.

While the author makes one or two valid points about Inara, the rest of the essay boggled my brain. In particular, the author's opinions on Joss himself and his wife are shocking.

Make sure you read the comments too.
