Links are starting to appear to Dollhouse but I can't muster up the enthusiasm to snag it. I thought I'd be psyched for anything and everything Whedon but this project is not getting me excited.

1. I don't think Eliza Dushku has the range as an actress to play all those different personalities. Plus, I hated Faith on Buffy (I know, I know, sacrilegious thoughts to most of the fandom but she never ever appealed to me as a character).

2. Network interference. Pilot re-shot. 'Make it more accessible'. Friday night time slot o' doom.

3. The premise is a little hard to swallow. Someone wanting to hire the perfect hooker or even just a date for the night I can understand. But choosing to have one of the 'dolls' become a hostage negotiator or spy over getting the real thing? Sorry, I don't buy it.

4. It's on Fox. Cancellation is imminent anyway.

I'll probably download it at a later date to satisfy my inner completionist or if the critics and the flist start raving - nobody is raving yet.

Is anyone else feeling a bit apathetic towards Dollhouse or is it just me?

I am, but then again, the only show Whedon ever made that I liked was Firefly. ;)

I love Firefly. I liked the first three seasons of Buffy. Haven't seen much Angel and don't really care to see more either. Doctor Horrible was hysterical.

So my ideal Whedon show would be a space-western musical with a girl who kicks ass frequently. Dollhouse isn't really doing it for me.

Your icon just got me thinking: I'd be more interested in Dollhouse if Summer Glau were in the lead role. I dislike Eliza Dushku more than I thought!

It's considered blasphemous by most of the Internets, apparently, but I hated Buffy, lol. No matter how you dress up a vampire show, I'm never going to like it, it seems.

Summer Glau is awesome, but apparently she's busy with that Sarah Connor Chronicles thing (all the more power to her). I wouldn't say I dislike Eliza Dushku, I just don't see much depth in her, as an actress. I can think of one thing I saw her in that I liked: Bring It On (LOL).

She is good in Bring It On! That film is a freak of nature - it makes me like cheerleaders.

I think Dushku gets more credit than she deserves as an actress from the Buffy fans because she played the 'dark' 'messed-up' character. But I always thought that Faith was whiny :-l

That film is a freak of nature in that I like it at all (to this day I'm not sure why, lol). It's not my usual genre of liking at all, that's for sure.

I didn't get the email, but then I also didn't notice that Thursday didn't get posted so it's ok. The fandom seems to be really slowing down and I'm considering shutting the newsletter down in a couple of weeks. We'll see what happens. But I'll let you know soon what I'm going to do, once I've decided ;-)

I had such a bad week and you made me feel better. I figured you probably didn't get it but you have always been a sweetheart to me and I am just grateful for your response. Thank you. I owe you. I seriously do. Whatever you need, you ask me. I don't care what it is.
About the newsletter, yes, I figured you would come to that soon and it makes me sad. I can see the fandom decreasing with every newsletter I put together. It sucks.
Again, thank you. And whatever you decide, I hope I can have one more before it all comes to an end. Just a wishful thought.

Ps. I want to let you know and you are the only one who will know but I might be deleting my lj as I write this. It won't be for long and I just might have it up by Thursday. Right now, I am deciding a change and I just want to put it away. I wish I could explain in detail. I just wanted to let you know so you don't think I disappeared forever.
