So I woke up this morning, reheated some leftover pizza (the breakfast of champions), and turned on the TV to watch while I ate. Our cable provider has this service that previews programs from different channels; I scrolled through the selection and discovered that the TV movie Avalon High was there in its entirety, courtesy of the Disney Channel.

( TL;DR: Arthur ended up being a girl and I am pleased by that )

A couple of days ago I mentioned a pilot called Them starring James D'Arcy which will be about extraterrestrial terrorists.

Well it just got more awesome. Turns out it's being produced by David Eick from Battlestar Galactica and he's bringing Tricia Helfer with him (it's possible she'll do both shows).

Filming started yesterday. Concept is apparently based on a graphic novel called Six but google and wikipedia have failed me in that respect.

And may I draw your attention to The Tudors which stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry the 8th. Historical inaccuracy has never been so pretty.

Still this show does look delightfully trashy and I do enjoy pointing out historical inaccuracies ~~and I really, really fancy Jonathan Rhys Meyers AND Jeremy Northam who is also in this~~ so I'll probably watch.

I wish I'd never seen the film Alexander, Oliver Stone's 'vision' of one of history's greatest leaders. The film gets a lot of the history right but unfortunately they cast Colin Farrell as Alexander. He is devoid of the charisma that the real Alexander had and had to have in order to achieve what he did.

And as I write this essay on Alexander the Great, I can't get Colin Farrell in a terrible blond wig out of my head. The film has warped my perception of this amazing historical figure.

Boo.
