I never thought I'd like a show created by David E. Kelly and certainly never imagined that I'd like a spin off from his The Practice, but I do love Boston Legal.

It's well written, intelligent, hilariously funny and features some fascinating characters played by brilliant actors. James Spader is superb as the duplicitous but oh so charming Alan Shore, Candice Bergen is great as Shirley Schmidt and each week I'm surprised and delighted at the layers William Shatner gives his gun toting egomaniac Republican, Denny Crane.

Of all the things I love about this show, the real and genuine friendship between Denny and Alan is probably my favourite. Despite (or more likely because of) their differences in age, character and politics, their friendship works incredibly well. They need each other - Denny needs someone to reign him in and care for him without being patronising and Alan needs this contact with humanity else he goes to far into his own darkness. At times they act as a mentor to the other but mostly they are equals. At the end of each episode they drink scotch and smoke cigars on the balcony, counseling each other; a moment which reminds me of the way Kevin and his son used to sit on the beach at the end of early episodes of Sea Change.

I really enjoy male friendships on TV. The camaraderie between House and Wilson on House, Jed and Leo on The West Wing, Jack and Daniel on Stargate SG-1. Even the boys of Coupling, Steve, Patrick and Jeff get along so well despite the fact that Steve is dating Patrick's ex - it's like all the issues and grudges that could bog them down are forgotten and they just focus on being good mates (the girls of Coupling get along well too but there is always a catty edge, especially between Susan and Jane). I was so disappointed with the way Logan and Duncan's relationship was handled on Veronica Mars - it was such a waste of potential and a disservice to the characters.

One of the reasons I am so looking  forward to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, is that the relationship between Matt Albie (Matthew Perry) and Danny Tripp (Bradley Whitford) is going to be so central to the show and I can't wait to see how it is developed. More platonic man love to enjoy!

In conclusion, boys being BFF is awesome and Boston Legal is sadly under-appreciated by the masses.

Because I was so excited about the whole Veronica-Mars-is-going-to-be-on-10-at-7:30-PM-on-Monday-oh-my-God-I'm-so-freaking-excieted-finally-yay-I-love-Logan-must-make-friends-watch-it-I-need-to-calm-down-maybe-take-a-cold-shower-ha-ha-that-just-reminded-me-of-Veronica-again-because-her-shower-sucks-I-LoVe-Veronica-Mars-and-channel-10-thing I didn't give my opinions on the 'House' finale.

It was good. Not as great as the last episode, because that one was freaking awesome, very early West Wing-esque if you ask me or my mum. But it was still good. Stacy was ok. Her husband was annoying.

CAMERON THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU! GOD! She pisses me off! See! She drove me to profanity and kids used to try and pay me money to swear in high school because I never would. Anyway. Cameron sucks.

And there was no way near enough Cuddy. Cuddy is awesome.

But House said that Chase would run away like a scared Wombat. Wombats, for all their cute appearance are quite fierce. And now let us take a moment to remember the greatest Wombat that ever was: Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat, the unofficial mascot for the Sydney Olympics. Ahh Fatso. How I loved thee.

And now we are one day closer to VM! I just love...EVERYBODY!

While we were eating dinner, my family and I watched 'Pilot Guides.' This episode was about Western Canada. The guide was Zay Harding (I think). He was cute. I think he was either Canadian or he just had a really mild and inoffensive American accent. Anyway, he was cute and funny and a bit of a dork (which is how I like my guys) and his name was 'Zay!' Say it out loud. You'll feel better.

On his trip he went to Whistler and went mountain bike riding, went to Vancouver where apparently Marijuana is legal or something, looked for bears, took a cool train ride, searched for gold, and drank a shot which had a toe in it. That's right. A toe. A long dead person's toe (I hope someone didn't just cut their toe off and send it to the tavern) but still. Say it with me Summer Roberts style: Ew!

Where the hell is my cocoa butter hand lotion?

Found it. Now my hands smell vaguely chocolate-y.

Who I am 'shipping on TV part two:

3. Gregory House and Lisa Cuddy on 'House'-Actually I'd 'ship Wilson with House over Cameron. She is soo annoying. It always about her issues. Cuddy on the other hand is awesome. She's smart. She's funny. She doesn't let House push her around (much). I don't really like her low cut tops and often her hair annoys me but the costuming generally sucks on 'House.' Hugh Laurie is gorgeous and fantastic in this role (and no, this is not me jumping on the band wagon. I loved him before 'House' when he was on 'Blackadder' as the Prince Regent. I actually knew he was English. So ha!) and Lisa Eidlestein (or however you spell her name) is pretty good to. I remember her a Laurie, the call girl on 'West Wing' (though I always wanted Sam to be with Mallory, Leo's daughter. They had great chemistry and Mallory was a red head. I generally favour red heads. Except for Addison on 'Grey's Anatomy' though I do find myself liking her more than I feel I should).

Anyway, here's hoping for a romance (or at least more hot snark) between House and Cuddy. That and Cameron dying. Quickly. With House not caring.
